Warehouse Worker

Summary
The Warehouse Worker is accountable for performing basic warehouse-related duties including picking, packing, shipping and receiving while striving to meet the department’s mission of providing superior and on-time customer service.

Accountabilities

Picking - Accurately picks customer orders
Packing - Assembles and tapes boxes for packing and shipping items. Properly fills the box with packing materials to protect customers’ order, inserts products ordered and seals the box.
Shipping - Reviews packed boxes information such as weight, dimensions, and destination and selects appropriate shipping carrier
Receiving - Verifies merchandise received against receiving documents; inspects condition of items and reports discrepancies
Stocking - Stocks shelves with merchandise; rotates stock
Returns - Processes and performs data entry of returns; returns merchandise to warehouse

Performs additional warehouse duties including - counting product; loading and unloading of truck trailers; operating automated equipment; and assisting Assembly workers in completing gun repairs and/or servicing various product returns. Available to work overtime when necessary and comply with all appropriate policies, procedures, and safety requirements

Requirements

A high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience; plus 6 months or more of previous Warehouse or Distribution Center experience

Knowledge and Abilities

1. Ability to read and understand the English language for the purpose of comparing and reading product descriptions, names and shelf labels
2. Basic mathematical skills
3. Strong organizational skills
4. Ability to use good judgment and ability to follow detailed instructions
5. Basic computer knowledge preferred
6. Professional, tactful and flexible. Able to work and communicate effectively
7. Maintain appropriate attendance standards and punctuality requirements
8. Good overall understanding of Distribution Center work flow and ability to work with minimum guidance
