Ironmen Sign Scott Kemp
Los Angeles Ironmen Sign Veteran Scott Kemp
San Diego, California - Friday December 11th, 2015
Dye Precision’s factory team, the Los Angeles Ironmen, one of the world’s most successful and longest running professional paintball teams, is excited to announce the signing of two-time World Champion Scott Kemp.
This is Kemp’s third tenure with the Ironmen. He comes back to the team after spending the past three seasons with San Antonio X-Factor; he has also previously played on XSV, Legacy and other teams in Europe and South America; additionally he’s won over 15 pro tournaments since 2004. Heading into his 13th year as a pro paintball player, Kemp brings with him a versatile skill set the youth-filled team needs to start moving up the ranks after a rebuilding year that saw them stay competitive with the highest ranked teams in the world. Kemp will most likely join budding star Brandon Cornell on the D-side of the field but could be used as a second attacker on the snake side as well, playing behind Toke Hamil and Jason Vitalich.
“I'm excited to start this new chapter in my career! The LA Ironmen are a young and hungry team of raw talent. They've been a legit threat to everyone all year long. I look to bring some experience and knowledge as we grow. I think we'll gel really well and I couldn't be more pumped to kick off the 2016 season and get to work! I'm excited to shoot the Dye M2 this season and continue using my R2 loader along with all of the other top notch products in the Dye portfolio. As far as parting ways with X-Factor, it wasn't easy but I think we’ll both benefit from it. I had three amazing seasons with them and learned so much along the way. I love those guys like brothers and know they will still be a top contender with or without me. But the Ironmen are going to be a powerhouse team this year without a doubt. I'm just thankful I have the opportunity to be a part of it.” – Scott Kemp
Kemp is also a highly regarded physical trainer and former Fitness Competitor, and will help the team stay conditioned throughout the 2016 season.
Ironmen Coach Billy Wing, who played alongside Kemp during his previous two runs with the team, has this to say about the pickup:
“Scott Kemp is a major pick up for the Ironmen. Scott’s professionalism and good nature make him a perfect fit for the Ironmen, both on and off the field. Scott brings a level of maturity, and confidence, that I feel will make an immediate impact to the team’s performance next year. Scott’s experience and work ethic are second to none. As a friend and former teammate, I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to bring Scotty back to the Ironmen where he started his Pro career, and helped us to win numerous tournaments and a World Cup. Scott’s talents, coupled with his ‘Team First' mentality makes Scotty a rare and valuable asset that any team would benefit from. I look forward to seeing great things from Scott and the Ironmen in 2016.” – Billy Wing
