Good Friends, Good Gear, Great Day with DYE!

Is there anything better about a day of paintball than being able to play all day and not have to do anything but actually PLAY PAINTBALL? You know – show up, gear up, load up, shoot ‘em up, clean up, pack up and go home…up. I had one of those days not too long ago and boy it was a great time. Dye paintball gear played a big part in that and since I’m a writer (if you didn’t already know that you’ll have to google it and take my word for it) I’m going to tell you guys a little bit about it in the hopes that maybe some of you can have a great day of paintball too!

Some very good friends and I hit up the local paintball field for a young man’s paintball birthday party. Is there anything more delightfully pure than playing paintball with friends and family you love, while supporting a local paintball field, and oh by the way, using the best paintball gear that runs flawlessly throughout the day so everyone can just have fun? Well, I don’t think some of our opponents had quite the level of fun that our little birthday party squad enjoyed, but sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug, right?

For my part of the paintball birthday party fun, I was using Dye paintball gear. Since it was local recreational paintball and there were lots of young and new paintball players around, I chose a Dye DSR Pro paintball gun set up with the DSR mech frame. I topped that off with a Dye Rotor R2 loader and my Dye Boomstick I paintball barrel kit. There were plenty of people at the field running electronic tournament paintball guns running at different levels of ramp but I felt in no way outgunned and in fact, when I did run up against opponents shooting a fast paintball gun, I enjoyed the challenge of not sticking my face out into a lane of paintballs and then figuring out how to introduce them to my paintballs. That’s the entire point of the game of paintball isn’t it? Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you?

It was a beautiful day when I took my Dye paintball gear out to play, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t sweat like heck because, well, it’s me. Thankfully, and by now I’m sure you see where I’m going with this, I was wearing one of the new Dye X HALO headwraps that help channel sweat away from the eyes and the goggle foam and boy was that useful. Speaking of goggle foam, my particular choice of goggle foam was the foam inside a pair of Dye i3 Pro paintball goggles in Heritage Gold, that really does go with everything. There’s a reason popular demand brought these paintball goggles back, boys and girls: the i3 Pro paintball goggle is a comfortable, fog free paintball goggle that looks as good as it performs. Don’t get me wrong, my Dye i5 paintball goggle is great and always has been, but when Dye announced they’d be bringing back the Dye i3 goggle, I knew I had to have one and they’ve been a great addition to my paintball gear bag.

Then, ladies and gentlemen, there’s the accuracy. I know I told you already I was running the Dye DSR Pro paintball gun with the legendary Dye Boomstick barrel and all that is important information, but I have to put an exclamation point on the end of that. Well not that sentence, because I didn’t. How about this one! Shoot that was a question. Anyways where was I? Oh yeah, Dye Boomstick paintball barrel system. There were a couple of times throughout my day of fun paintball with friends and family that I was shooting so accurately that I was able to confidently snap out, and shoot BACK into paintballs coming at me fired by an opponent who was already dominant, and eliminate them while their paintballs painted a circle around me. In at least one of those instances, my esteemed opponent threw some accusatory shade at me via the nearby referee, which was put to rest when the referee, after the game, showed that opponent my paint-free goggles and paintball gear. Can we talk about what an amazing feeling that is?

The best part about my whole day of paintball was, of course, enjoying our amazing game and sport of paintball with beloved family and friends, while of course putting more paintballs on other people than put paintballs on ME. That said, a big part of making that day so enjoyable was how my Dye paintball gear asked for NOTHING from me but to move it around the field, get air every-so-often and wipe splatter off my goggle lenses. No breakdowns, no time spent frustrated at a picnic table taking gear apart while friends were out playing shooty-ball, no weird hiccups and funny noises on field, no aggravated shaking of paintball gear when no paintballs came out; none of that. Just blammo when the trigger was pulled, consistency over the chronograph, paintballs going that way and making splat on other people’s paintball goggle lenses and, yes, winning. At the end of the day the point is safe paintball fun, but let’s be honest: paintball is always more fun when you WIN, and my Dye paintball gear contributed massively to both the fun, and the winning!
